10 Most-Endangered Places in the U.S. Have you ever visited a state or city and thought about where it would be in 50 years? What about 100 years? Well, while most of our city will likely stay intact and in the same spot, that can’t be said for every place in the United States. Every year the National Trust for Historic Preservation makes a list of some of the most endangered places in the United States. These are buildings that were once highlights of the city, but somehow managed to fall into disrepair for one reason or another.
While many of them still look alright from the outside, the buildings need some serious care before they can be reformed to their former glory. Some cities want to see the buildings gone while others want to keep them safe but lack the funds to take care of them. While change is inevitable, these national treasures need to be preserved as important examples of architectural styles and environmental landmarks.
Without further ado, here are 10 of the most endangered places in the United States. If you’re nearby to one of them, you may want to stop by and take a look just in case they’re soon gone forever!
