12 Fictional Homes You Can See in Real Life

1. 'American Horror Story'

1120 Westchester Place, Los Angeles, California

The Rosenheim Mansion in Los Angeles is immediately striking, and it should be. Alfred F. Rosenheim was a notable architect, and this was the place he designed for himself. We can't say whether he would be thrilled it's known as "Murder House," but he would likely be pleased to know that it's made a mark on American culture.

Plantation Village,  4626 Highway 68, St. Francisville, Baton Rouge, LA

Previously known as Asphodel, this historic plantation village has several beautiful Antebellum buildings. For a long time, the place was run as a bed and breakfast, and its Asphodel bread was the stuff of legend. Today the plantation exists as a state-of-the-art production studio. The Maze Runner filmed here, as have many others.

3. 'Home Alone'

671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, IL

Sure enough, the house made famous by Kevin McCallister's endless booby traps is real. The red brick, Georgian home was chosen after an exhaustive search for a place that was "warm, yet menacing." It sold in 2012 for $1.585 million.

Brian De Palma's remake of Howard Hawks's 1932 gangster classic is pure Miami, but the elaborate home in which Tony Montana holed up is located in Santa Barbara. The Mediterranean estate was designed by Bertram Goodhue and named "El Fureidis" or "Tropical Paradise." The home sold last year for $12.3 million.

10104 Angelo View Drive, Los Angeles, CA

This house was designed by John Lautner, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright's. The triangular glass-and-concrete home clings to the side of a canyon. The current owner had the designer do a revamp in the '90s and hosted Rihanna's 27th birthday party. He announced this February that he is donating it to a museum.

6. 'Purple Rain'

3420 Snelling Ave S, Minneapolis, MI

Prince famously razed his Purple House when his father passed away, but the Purple One's relationship with Minneapolis ran deep and lasted his entire life. Prince's legacy will forever be a part of the city in every corner, including this pointedly modest home. It sold in September 2015 for $117,000.

7. 'Breaking Bad'

3828 Piermont Drive, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Having lived in the house since 1973, Frances Padilla has no plans to move out. Even as fans throw endless pizzas on her roof to recreate one of Walter White's most famous tantrums, Padilla hasn't sold. There were three houses from Breaking Bad on the market last year, but this wasn't one of them.

8. 'Revenge'

257 Further Lane, East Hampton, New York

Revenge just ended last year, but it was a big deal to a lot of people, and the Hamptons house from which Emily Thorne stages her revenge was a vital part of the show. The exterior of the house, back porch and all, is a real home in East Hampton. Although, the layout of the grounds did get a little assistance from CGI.

9. 'Grace and Frankie'

31212 Broad Beach Road, Malibu, CA

Grace and Frankie is a proud jewel in the Netflix-original comedy crown. The beach house the two women move into together is supposed to be in La Jolla, but it's actually in Malibu. Rather than simply using the facade, the show seems to have used the real interior of the house as inspiration for its sets.

10. 'Sex and the City'

10. 'Sex and the City'

66 Perry Street, New York, NY

Visitors to this house are so numerous that the neighbors rallied together to have the home pulled from a local Sex and the City tour. The place is actually blurred out on Google Maps! We don't blame them. In 2014 Sarah Jessica Parker had a photoshoot for her Nordstrom shoe collection on the stoop without asking the homeowners.

11. 'Pee-Wee's Big Day'

1846 Oxley, Street, South Pasadena, CA

Tim Burton had sketched a very particular look for Pee-Wee Herman's home, insisting on windows and a door that looked like a face. He never did find one that perfectly suited his outsized aesthetic, but he did find one that was close enough.

12. 'Full House'

1709 Broderick Street, San Francisco, California

This house is iconic, and with the Netflix's Fuller House revival show, it's back in the public eye. Even though the show was filmed on a soundstage in a completely different state, the house was in the title and became a symbol for the show. Perhaps most importantly, it's currently for sale at the price of 4 million dollars!
