Throughout the Mardi Gras season, beginning at Epiphany and lasting until Ash Wednesday, New Orleans hosts over 80 parades that wind their way through various parts of the city. Each one is unique and has its own character. Some are satirical, some are historical, but the three largest and most outlandish parades are called Super Krewes. The 3 Super Krewes have the largest parades, floats with state-of-the-art sound systems and LED lights, and celebrity grand marshals who are the ceremonious leaders of the parade.
