Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Alaska and Georgia have the highest average number of military enlistees. 

North Dakota, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Minnesota have the lowest.

Wyoming, Hawaii, Virginia, Montana, and Alaska have the most veterans per capita.

New York, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, and Utah have the fewest.

Maryland, Virginia, Oregon, Montana, and Vermont have the most Peace Corps volunteers per capita.

Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, North Dakota and South Dakota have the fewest.

Maryland, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Oregon, Minnesota and New Jersey have the highest percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 presidential election.

Arkansas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Alabama have the lowest.

South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah have the highest volunteer rates.

New York, Florida, Nevada, Mississippi and Kentucky have the lowest.

According to the WalletHub study, Blue States are more patriotic, with an average ranking of 24.92, compared with 26.08 for Red states.

(States were "red" or "blue" based on how they voted in the 2020 presidential election.)

Sliding into the 20th spot is New Mexico.

The state ranks No. 10 for military engagement but No. 26 for civic engagement.

Idaho comes in at the 19th spot in the ranking for most patriot states.

It is No. 18 in both military and civic engagement.

Wyoming comes in at No. 18 overall...

...and No. 7 for military engagement.

North Carolina is the 17th-most patriotic state in the U.S.

It ranks No. 6 in military engagement but only No. 32 for civic engagement.

Although Utah comes in at No. 46 for veterans per capita...

Utah nabbed the top spot for volunteer rate and comes in at No. 16 overall!

Maine is not only the 15th-most patriotic state.

Maine also comes in 8th for civic engagement.

Delaware comes in at No. 14 for most patriotic.

Delaware also comes in No. 11 for civic engagement.

Colorado is not only the 13th-most patriotic state...

It ranks No. 12 for military engagement and No. 15 for civic engagement. Colorado also ranks 4th for volunteer rate. (Good job, guys!)

South Dakota comes in at No. 12 overall for patriotism, ranking No. 10 for civic engagement...

Despite having the lowest percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 presidential election, as well as ranking No. 48 for having the fewest Peace Corps volunteers, it does have the 2nd highest volunteer rate.

Washington is the 11th-most patriotic state in America.

It ranks No. 14 in both civic and military engagement.

Iowa is the 10th-most patriotic state overall...

Despite ranking only No. 41 in military engagement, Iowa ranks No.4 for civic engagement, putting it higher on the list overall.

New Hampshire is the 9th most patriotic state in the United States of America.

It comes in at No. 6 for civic engagement and No. 4 for the percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 presidential election.

Although Vermont comes in at No. 49 for the average number of military enlistees...

It ranks No. 1 for Peace Corps volunteers per capita and comes in at the No. 2 spot for civic engagement. Overall, it ranks No. 8.

Hawaii is the 7th-most patriotic state in the U.S...

With the 5th most veterans per capita, it ranks No. 2 in military engagement but ranks only No. 24 in civic engagement.

Maryland is the 6th-most patriotic state in the U.S... 

It has the 3rd most volunteers for the Peace Corps per capita and the 5th highest percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 presidential election.

Oregon comes in the 5th spot for patriotism.

Oregon also landed the No. 5 spot for most Peace Corps volunteers (per capita). It was No. 3 for civic engagement and No. 3 for having the highest percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 election.

Although North Dakota has one of the lowest average numbers of Peace Corps volunteers and average numbers of military enlistees out of all U.S. states...

...it still managed to nab the 4th spot on this list. It is No. 5 when it comes to civic engagement.

Virginia is the 3rd-most patriotic state.

Virginia comes in at the No. 3 spot for military engagement. They have the 2nd most veterans (per capita) and the 4th most Peace Corps volunteers per capita.

Montana is the 2nd-most patriotic state in the U.S.

They also rank No. 2 for the most Peace Corps volunteers (per capita), and No. 4 for Veterans per capita. They are No. 1 in civic engagement. 

Alaska ranks No. 1 overall, as well as No. 1 for the most veterans per capita...
