Named after its location halfway between Los Angeles and Chicago on historic Route 66, the Midpoint Café has been serving customers for the better part of a century. Though it has changed owners over the years, the atmosphere has remained untouched. If you or your children are Cars fans, you'll love this tidbit! Pixar passed through in the early 2000s, leading to Midpoint Café becoming the inspiration for Flo's V-8 Café in Radiator Springs.

Ennis

If you can visit in the first few weeks of April, there isn't one inch of Bluebonnet Trail that isn't scattered with gorgeous wildflowers. This area is home to the highest concentration of profusion blooms in the Texas Hill Country, and it's a can't-miss attraction. Before you get there, don't forget to consult the DOT's Wildflower Hotline to find out where you can find the best color at any given time. While the Bluebonnet Trail is perfect for families, check out some of the many great wineries along the trail if you don't have any children in your party.
