Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is a popular tourist destination on the east coast. Tourists come to lie on the beach, drink, and swim. Myrtle Beach offers tourists some of the finest dining experiences as well as entertainment. Myrtle Beach is also known for its golf resorts, and it has some of the best golf courses in the country. The golf courses include Dye Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf, Long Bay Club, Grande Dunes, and King's North.
Dye Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf
Dye Course at Barefoot Resort and Golf was named the "Golf Course of the Year" by Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association. Don't let it's beauty fool you. This course is challenging even for experienced players. Dye can be enjoyed by beginners with the right equipment despite the various pitfalls and traps. Dye also has native grasses that add to the unique beauty of this golf course.
Long Bay Club
The Long Bay Club is a golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is named in Golf Digest's "Places to Stay." This course gained the infamous nickname "Jack's Sandbox" due to the bunkers that make this course so challenging. Beginners and hobby golfers should not be intimidated. Long Bay Club offers professional lessons to those who only wish to admire the views of this resort.
Grand Dunes
Grande Dunes is a breathtaking golf resort overlooking the marina and waterway. This course offers 18 holes as well as a Golf Academy. Brad Redding is an instructor at the Golf Academy. This resort has one of the most spectacular and lavish clubhouses. Amenities include extensive practice areas, a golf shop, private dining areas, a bistro, and a bar stocked with expensive and rare wine vintages and spirits.
King's North
King's North is the golf course for you if you're looking for more of an oasis. This course was listed under Golf Digest's "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses." The honor is well deserved. This course has many pools and ponds. The sand traps are shaped like South Carolina. This is one of the few golf courses in Myrtle Beach that is located in the heart of Grand Strand. The course's remoteness allows golfers to play outside the view of homes and estates. King's North allows for a sense of privacy as well as a challenge.
These beautiful and varied golf courses are just a small fraction of what Myrtle Beach has to offer as perhaps the premier golf destination in the country.
