Cab It
When leaving the hotel and making your way to the meeting location make sure to cab it. Even if it is only a block or two away, if you are not use to the weather you need to take a cab. The heat is going to cause you to sweat and this is going to create all sorts of havoc with your hair and your makeup. While most of the fun and excitement takes place in South Beach, the majority of business takes place in downtown Miami. It is important to take this into consideration when booking your hotel. Of course, this isn't to say that there are no forms of entertainment located downtown because that would be truly wrong. However, there are many options available to you that are going to help you out with finding the perfect location, and you won't have to worry about any sort of crazy nightlife keeping you up at night when you are trying to prepare for a presentation or meeting the next day.
