Cancun is a beautiful place, and these vacations give families everything they need to enjoy their time away from home. However, all-inclusive vacations need to be reviewed to make sure they offer everything they claim to offer.
Lodging
Your lodging accommodations for your all-inclusive Cancun vacation are usually included in the package. Where you stay while you are in Cancun is very important to the overall vacation experience. There are times when the lodging is discounted because of the vacation package, but the lodging is included nonetheless.
Dining
Dining is sometimes included in these vacation packages. The food that is served at a particular resort can be included in the package. The resort likely offers meal cards that allow your family to get breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks and alcoholic beverages. These cards keep track of your expenditures during the trip, and they allow you access to what you have purchased under the package.
If you want to dine outside the resort, you will have to pay out of pocket because meal plans are typically not tied in to other restaurants.
Souvenirs
Souvenirs are not included in most vacation packages. The package may offer a small token of appreciation to every member of the family, but any souvenirs you want to buy on the vacation will come out of your spending money.
Transportation
Certain vacation packages will allow for a rental for your family, but this is not always the case. If you want a specific type of rental car, you will need to rent the car on your own.
Also, your airfare to your destination is rarely included in the package. These all-inclusive packages are tied to the resort where you stay. Unless an airline owns the resort, it is difficult for you find a package that pays for your airfare, too.
Concierge Services
Certain vacation packages will come with tickets for entertainment events. You could get tickets to a show that is hosted at the resort, but anything outside the resort will not be included. If you want to see a soccer match, go to a concert or take a helicopter ride, you will need to schedule that through the concierge at your own expense.
All-inclusive vacation packages are inclusive of everything that the resort offers. Most things outside the resort are not included because the resort does not own the other businesses where you spend your money. Make sure you know what is included in your package before you travel.
