30 American Cities with the Best Drivers

The small city of Thornton, Colorado just barely made the cut! On average, their drivers experiences collisions once every 11 years--which is just a bit higher than the national average of 10.57 years. 

Lexington is another city that just barely placed on this list--their time between collisions is about 4% longer than the national average. 

Winston-Salem is a city on the bigger side, at least by North Carolina standards. But despite the big population, they still manage to go on average 11.1 years between accidents. 

If you're looking to escape bad drivers, Anchorage, Alaska might be a good place to consider. There's an average of 11.2 years between accidents there. And you can't beat those views! 

Chandler is a good driver oasis in the desert! Drivers there go, on average, 11.2 years between wrecks. 

It's the biggest little city in the world...and it attracts good drivers? Vehicle owners there beat the national average for time between wrecks by 7%. 

The flatlands of Kansas are a great place to learn how to drive, if Wichita is any indication. Drivers there go 11.3 years between collisions--almost a full year more than the national average! 

Montgomery is the capital city of Alabama, and they set a good driving example for the whole state. Time between collisions here is almost 8% higher than the national average. 

Of all the American Springfields, the Missouri one has proven to be the best in terms of drivers. Here, drivers go on average 11 and a half years between accidents. 

Depending on who you ask, Nebraska doesn't offer much. But the capital city of Lincoln is full of good drivers! Their average time between collisions is nearly 10% higher than the national average. 

The Texas Panhandle city of Amarillo knows how to do driving right. Drivers there go an average of 11.5 years between collisions. 

Knoxville may be a major southern city, but you won't have to deal with many crazy drivers on its roads. Drivers in this Tennessee gem go an average of 11.5 years between accidents. 

Go to Corpus Christi for the beaches, but stay for the good drivers! Their average time between crashes is 10% higer than the country's average. 

The costal city of Mobile is full of beautiful architecture and important American history. It's also home to some of the best drivers in the country. Here, the average time between collisions is 11.5 years. 

Even though Mesa fell one spot from last year's list, they are still solidly one of the cities with the best drivers. Average time between collisions is more than one year longer than the national average--11.6!

Arizona has a healthy number of entries on this list, and Scottsdale is one of the best. Here, the time between accidents is 10% higher than the national average. 

If you want the beauty of costal Florida without the hassle of Miami, Port St. Lucie is the place to be. It's also the place to be if you're looking for good drivers. Here, drivers go on average 11.8 years between collisions. 

The scenic, mountain views from Colorado Springs can't be beat. And we can say the same about their drivers, too! Their average time between collisions is 13.5% longer than the national average. 

Just on the outskirts of Raleigh and Durham, Cary is moderately-sized city for that part of the country--and its drivers are some of the best. On average, they go 12 years between accidents. 

Madison is the place to be in Wisconsin--especially if you're looking for good drivers. Their average time between collisions is more than 15% higher than the national average! 

Cape Coral is a planned community in southern Florida, and their good drivers are absolutely something you can plan on! Drivers here go an average of 12. 2 years between wrecks. 

At one point, McAllen had the embarrassing title of "Most Obese City in America." These days, they're better known for their good drivers. The average time between wrecks here is 17% longer than the national average. 

Overland Park is one of Kansas' biggest cities, but that doesn't mean you won't find good drivers there. On average, residents go 12.4 years between accidents--almost two years longer than the national average. 

Located in the northern part of the state, Fort Collins is Colorado's highest entry on the best driver list. Residents go an average of 12.6 years between accidents here. 

The state of Kansas just can't be stopped when it comes to good drivers. The city of Olathe may not be big, but it's got plenty of good drivers. Their average time between wrecks is 20% higher than the country's. 

As I walked out on Laredo one day, I spied...a lot of good drivers. Residents of this Texas city go an average of 13 years between wrecks. 

Kansas City reigns supreme when it comes to Kansas cities with good drivers. Their average time between wrecks is almost 25% longer than the national average. 

There's lots to do and see in Huntsville--and there aren't many bad drivers to get in your way! Residents here go an average of 13.4 years between collisions. 

Close, but no cigar, Boise. They're the number two city on this list, which is still something to be proud of! Here, drivers go an average of 13.7 years between wrecks. 

Brownsville isn't just the city with the best drivers--it beats the closest competition by more than a year! Drivers here go an average of 14.9 years between collisions, which is a whopping 41% higher than the national average.
