The Best Spots in Disney World for a Family Photo

1. Cinderella Castle

1. Cinderella Castle

Cinderella is one of the most iconic symbols of Disney. Her castle is the first thing you see when you watch any Disney movie. You're almost obligated to get pictures. In fact, the Disney Tourist Blog has an entire article on photo spots just for this landmark.

2. Magic Kingdom Entrance

2. Magic Kingdom Entrance

Is it a photo that everyone takes at Disney World? Absolutely! But let's be honest, sometimes you just need to do the cheesy tourist thing. This is probably one of those times.

3. The "Nonchalant Roller Coaster" Photo

Back in 2007, an Internet comic called XKCD started a global phenomenon of people playing chess on roller coasters. But XKDC just harnessed the natural drive of people to subvert expectation and gave it an outlet. People have been taking bizarre roller coaster photos for decades, and they remain a classic today.

4. Peter Pan and Wendy

4. Peter Pan and Wendy

The characters roaming the park provide many of the most reliable photo opportunities, and Peter Pan and Wendy are the most reliably fun characters. In addition to the photos being great vacation mementos, meeting Peter Pan (and others like Gaston and Chip & Dale) will create wonderful memories.

5. The Grand Floridian

5. The Grand Floridian

The Grand Floridian and its restaurant, Victoria & Albert's, is posh to the point of comedy. If they don't think so, your family probably will. Bring the fake mustaches and monocles for this one and get a nice, faux-aristocratic snapshot here.

6. Gift Shops

6. Gift Shops

This isn't the most traditional place for a picture, sure, but you got your traditional photos out of the way earlier. You've brought your kids to a place chock-full of more Disney paraphernalia than they've ever seen in their tiny lives. There are going to be some delighted faces as they browse. Try to capture that. This would also be a good place to get a photo of your kids wearing a dozen Mickey ears at once!

7. Spaceship Earth

7. Spaceship Earth

Designed by Ray Bradbury himself, Spaceship Earth walks you through the history of human technology. But, it's also become emblematic of Epcot itself, and it's a great place to take a photo to mark the start of a day at Epcot.

8. The Tower of Terror

8. The Tower of Terror

Of Walt Disney World's actual rides, the Tower of Terror may well be the most iconic. You'll want photos of the outside as surely as you'll want pictures from the ride itself. Try getting them up and down Sunset Boulevard, or even in the background of photos taken outside of the park (if you want to avoid crowds).

9. The Oasis Exhibits

9. The Oasis Exhibits

The Oasis Exhibits greet you on your way into the Animal Kingdom, and it's also where you can add a creature or two to your family photo. The critters here tend to be a little more close-range, so if you want to snap a group shot with a wallaby, now's your chance.

10. PhotoPass Locations

10. PhotoPass Locations

PhotoPass is a sort of strange beast with lots of options to spend a great deal of money. There are plenty of people debating whether it's worth it or not. But if you decide it is worth it, you can take advantage of their ready-to-go locations and framing, as well as the fact that your whole family can be in the picture without trusting your phone to a stranger.
