Most-Visited Attractions in Yosemite Park

Yosemite National Park is the most-visited national park in the nation. Covering a large portion of central California, Yosemite has innumerable things to offer visitors from lodgings to campsites, to notable hiking trails. Here are the consistently most popular attractions at Yosemite that are a must-see for any new travelers:

1. Yosemite Falls

This is a beautiful area, and it is also the highest waterfall in the country. The falls have rocks on each side, and the best time to view this sight is in the late winter or early spring. You can catch a glimpse of the snow that is melting as well as the new flowers.

2. Half Dome

If you like viewing nature's wonderful creations, then you will enjoy this dome formation of rocks. The top of the dome is almost 5,000 feet above the floor of the valley. This is an attraction popular for hikers as they can climb to the top with cables.

3. Tuolumne Meadows

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon or evening along the river of the same name. There are several plants and trees in the area for you to see, and you can also see wild animals if you are patient. Hike along the trails during the day, or camp overnight to explore the area in the summer months.

4. El Capitan

Visitors will find that this is an attraction for those who like rock climbing. There are several vertical formations that will leave climbers breathless as they look down on the water below. This mountain was once known as one that is impossible to climb, but there have been many who have made it to the top.

5. Cathedral Peak

This is one of the star attractions of Yosemite National Park. It holds a beauty like none other with soothing waters and tall mountains. The peak is over 10,000 feet tall. The peak is made of granite, and it is part of the Cathedral Range. It was first climbed in 1869.

6. Bridalveil Fall

There is a history here that dates back to the Ahwahneechee Native American tribe. The tribe believed that a couple who stands in the middle of the falls will increase their chances of getting married. The falls are rather slender, and they are surrounded by rocks. However, you can see all the beauty that nature holds while here.

7. Glacier Point

This is one of the best viewpoints in the park. It is located along the south wall of Yosemite Valley. While you are standing at the point, you can see the Half Dome and the Nevada Fall. This point offers a breathtaking view of the area as you stand to view the valley below and the rocks that extend to the sky.
