5 Family-Friendly Houston Hotels

Traveling can be stressful, and traveling with kids can be even more so. On top of having more to keep up with, travelers with families in two don’t always feel welcome, much less accommodated. Here are some hotels in Houston that cater to the whole family.

Houstonian

The Houstonian offers much in the way of youth amenities. The facility houses one of the top 10 fitness clubs in the country, and guests are welcome to take advantage of it all. Members get free, supervised child care, and guests can get the same service for a fee. There’s also a Kids’ Gym, and club members have access to programs for youth including junior tennis, youth aquatics, rock climbing, youth yoga, and an outdoor gym.

Magnolia

We’ve talked about The Magnolia before, so you may be familiar with some of the boutique hotel’s more luxurious offerings. But while kids may not be taking part in the wine and beer reception, there’s still plenty for them to do. In addition to the pool, there’s the milk-and-cookie reception. And it’s not just your kids who’ll benefit—the hotel is a proud supporter of the Ronald McDonald House.

Hyatt Regency

The Hyatt Regency accommodates families in a downtown area typically more geared to conventioneers. Suites can be set up to give parents and children privacy. Cribs and babysitting services are available, and each room comes equipped with a DVD player, with a Wii gaming console available on request.

Woodlands Resort

Woodlands bills itself as a resort and conference center. With 21 tennis courts, several pools, and over 200 miles of trails to explore, there’s plenty here for the whole family to enjoy. In the summer, their Forest Oasis Waterscape includes pools and a man-made floating river, plus bicycles are available for rent to explore the area.

Omni Houston

The Omni Hotel Houston has plenty of comfortable accommodations for the whole family. In addition to the pool and the spa, the hotel also offers a wide variety of kid-friendly amenities. Kids receive a backpack upon check-in with an activity book, crayons, and more, and they get milk and cookies their first night in the hotel. There’s also a Kids’ Sensory Suite for sleepover parties, with special decor, a 55-inch TV, and video games.
