Located on a secluded island in the middle of Lake Pichola, Taj Lake Palace is a 40-minute drive from the Udaipur Airport. Taj Lake Palace was built in 1746 and restored to its former glory in 1963. With 80 rooms, Taj Lake Palace is perfect for more intimate ceremonies since max capacity is around 160 guests.

Udaipur itself, known as the "City of Lakes," attracts thousands of visitors annually. Guests can arrive via boat, and the hotel Jiva Spa offers many packages for guests. The hotel costs nothing to use as a venue (as long as you rent out every room...), and extra wedding feeds add up quickly. For example, decorations cost $2-4k, and makeup is upwards of $300

One & Only Reethi Rah Resort in The Maldives

One & Only Reethi Rah Resort in The Maldives
  • $2,000/night (Private Villa)
  • 26,000 Square Feet
  • ~1,000 Capacity
  • Est. 2005

The One & Only Reethi Rah is a gorgeous resort in The Maldives. Reethi Rah translates to “beautiful island” in the native language Dhivehi. Brides can marry barefoot on the white beaches in front of the Indian Ocean or in private venues like the Wedding Pavillion or Reethi Restaurant.

The resort includes beach-side bungalows, private villas, and panoramic ocean views that are perfect for a luxurious wedding. Venue costs aren't publicly available, which implies that if you have to ask, you can't afford it... But if the prices for a single room tell you anything, renting out the entire venue is astronomical.
