Burkina Faso

The Burkinabé people are some of the most welcoming and lively that you will find anywhere. Large open-air markets, overflowing with handmade crafts and surrounded by upbeat music, make for a unique travel experience if this country previously wasn't on your radar. While it may not seem like it, it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth, as well. It may not have many big-ticket attractions, but it has plenty of spectacular landscapes that will amaze any traveler. One of which is Sindou Peaks, which is a narrow, craggy chain of cones that were sculpted by natural elements. If you love hiking, Burkina Faso is the place to go. This country is also home to a 97,000-hectare wildlife reserve where you can see antelope, monkeys, warthogs, crocodiles, plenty of birds, and elephants. The best time to go is December through April.
