Top Restaurants in Chicago

When visiting Chicago, you might look at the size of the city, the expensive sales tax and the cost of your hotels and automatically believe you are going to spend a fortune on your meals as well. While, truth be told, you probably will spend more money on food in Chicago than what you would in other, smaller locations, you might ultimately find that you don't have to blow your entire budget just to eat your food. There are restaurants of all kinds spread throughout the city, so no matter how often you visit the city or where you are staying, there is always a new restaurant that is going to give you all sorts of different options.

Kuma's Corner Lake Shore Area

You know you are in for a treat when there are burgers named after some of the greatest heavy metal rock stars, including Metallica, Judas Priest and Slayer. For an incredibly burger when you are hungry and don't want to blow your entire budget on something more expensive, this is an excellent option for you. Plus, it is ranked in the top 25 in Zagat's Chicago ratings, so you know you are going to receive quality food and service.

Arami West Town

This is a favorite among locals and is ranked 20th on Zagat's Chicago top restaurants, you are going to find an urban feeling sushi restaurant. Of course, the food here almost takes a back seat to the decor, which makes you feel as if you are in the heart of a spa. This way, you can let your mind and body at ease while you enjoy some moderately priced sushi.

Over Easy Cafe Damen Ave

As a restaurant ranked 16th on Zagat's top Chicago restaurants list, you'd expect to spend a pretty penny on your meal. However, with an average cost of $16 for a full meal and drink, it is hard to beat the kind of deal you are going to get here. So, for traditional American food, not to mention an excellent breakfast menu, this is one of the best spots in all of Chicago to come and check out.

Topolabampo (Off) Michigan Ave

Owned by the world class Rick Bayless, this Mexican themed and inspired restaurant is unlike anything else you have had in terms of Mexican food. In fact, it is likely going to change the way you view Mexican food all together. While the guacamole is king here (they grow their own hybrid avocado on the roof, so you'll never find another guacamole that tastes anything similar to what you are going to find), there are some incredible menu items to choose from. Bayless' mole is something you truly have to experience to believe, and as it is ranked in the top 10 of Zagat's top restaurants in Chicago, this is a must see. Reservations need to be made almost a month in advance, but even as a high profile restaurant from an award winning chief, you can enjoy a dinner for two for around $70.
