Los Angeles is known for its glamorous lifestyle and high class amenities, and the hotels in downtown L.A. certainly don't disappoint. Many of the best downtown hotels are historic landmarks and pamper their guests with the utmost in luxurious details.

Millennium Biltmore Hotel

This 1923 piece of Hollywood history is a landmark of downtown Los Angeles that is resplendent with ornate architecture, echoing Old Europe and tying into the golden age of Hollywood. The Biltmore prides itself on its one-of-a-kind amenities like an on-site jeweler and florist, babysitting, and a fitness center with a dry sauna, a steam room, and a 1920s Roman-style pool. The Gallery Bar offers classic cocktails while the Rendezvous Court offers traditional afternoon tea in what used to be the Biltmore's lobby in 1923.

Its location in the financial and business district puts it within walking distance of popular theater and shopping sites, making it a prime location for the best shopping and dining in L.A. The Checker’s Downtown restaurant, located inside the Hilton Checkers, is known for its elegant ambiance and serves up a variety of California cuisine with hints of Asian and French influences. Checker's Lounge has a full menu of diverse cocktails, tasty appetizers, and menu choices from the Checker's Downtown kitchen.

The Standard is a mid-century landmark with a rooftop pool bar, waterbed cabanas, a barbershop, and a 24-hour restaurant. Guest rooms are all over-sized with overstocked mini bars, 24-hour room service, snuggly robes, and pet-friendly accommodations. Guests have ten sizes of rooms from which to choose. The top floor "Big Penthouse" is 915 square feet of luxury while the "Bigger Penthouse" is a 1000 square-foot palace with Labyrinth designer sofas, water closets, and a wet bar.
