Best Bites in Los Angeles

Dining in the vast multi-cultural city of Los Angeles affords an infinite array of opportunities to satisfy your appetite as well as any desires and curiosities that have tickled your taste buds, and Los Angeles dining is as much about enjoying the environment as it is about enjoying the food.

Let us begin our food fest at the founding site of Los Angeles, Olvera Street, located in the historic El Pueblo De Los Angeles Park, next to the Union Station, and across the street from China Town, at 845 N. Alameda Street.

The gala plaza of Olvera Street is filled with Mexican cultural festivities all year long. The air is filled with music and songs of the Mariachis, as colorful dancers whirl with delight. The air is also filled with the aroma of authentic Mexican delicacies from restaurants that line the plaza with courtyard tables that allow visitors to enjoy the festivities as they savor their meals. The reasonably priced meals will satisfy two for less than $40.00. Some of the most popular restaurants on Olvera Street include the El Paseo Inn, Las Anitas Mexican Restaurant, El Rancho Grande, and La Golandrina Mexican Restaurant.

A visit to Los Angeles would not be complete without a trip to the beach, and the Paradise Cove at 28128 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu is a perfect restaurant to dine while savoring the gorgeous shoreline. The casual cuisine, has an emphasis on seafood dishes that include classic fish, ocean shrimp, lobster, and Kobe barbeque beef tacos; buckets of crispy calamari; old fashioned fish and chips; barbeque beef, pork, and chicken dishes; blackened chicken or steak; and an unbelievably tasty veggie-burger. Paradise cove has a full bar and offers an array of unique tropical drinks. Their breakfast menu is classic American style, and their prices are surprisingly reasonable at $15.00 - $30.00 per dish.
