A Luxury Stay at The National Hotel

The National Hotel draws on its deep roots from the 1930s and 1940s as it sits deep in the Art Deco neighborhood of Miami. The hotel was opened in 1939 and was given a full restoration that was finished in 2014. It has been recognized by the Historic Hotels of America for keeping its architecture completely authentic while seamlessly folding in modern amenities and design elements.

The National is truly a luxury hotel with top of the line amenities to meet every need of every guest that passes through the front doors. True to its beach heritage, the hotel provides direct beach access and staff shuttle food and drink to sun soaked beach bums. The pools are one of the hotel's crown jewels with the world famous National Hotel infinity pool stretches a whopping 205 feet long. The adjoining lounging pool is perfect for floating in the Florida sunshine then sipping cocktails on a lounge chair.

To make any luxury hotel complete, it requires a spa and the National delivers this tenfold. The spa sits right next to the infinity pool and prides itself on traditional spa services with a modern Florida twist. Various packages offer a total body work up complete with champagne, manicures/pedicures, and a delicious body treatment. The Marilyn Facial uses a champagne sugar scrub and strawberry cleansers while the Ms Taylor Facial use products infused with diamonds that creates a total exfoliation process that leaves the skin youthful and refreshed. Guests can also indulge in massages, nail services, and even eyelash extensions.

Four onsite dining options complete this respite. Tamara Bistro is lined with two story windows that enhance the mosaic tile ceiling and look out over the infinity pool. Dining starts at 7am and offers guests trendy interpretations of country French food. The Blues Bar brings back the jazz-soaked Prohibition era atmosphere with tinkling pianos, upbeat trumpets, and customized cocktails. The Aqua Bar and Grill seats guests around the ever-present 205 foot pool and serves light fare like grilled satays and sumptuous salads. Tropical martinis and sangrias are like a mini-vacation for the palate. Finally, the Martini Room takes guests back in time to the dignified 40s with terrazzo floors and traditional cocktails.

Once guests have had their fill of refreshing pools and pleasant foods, their rooms will continue to impress. Ocean front rooms have uninhibited views of the Atlantic Ocean and Miami Beach while the art deco rooms peer out over the Art Deco District. The Cabana Suites are clustered around the infinity pool and include a large terrace, a king sized bed, and 40" LCD TVs. The creme de la creme of the National is their Penthouse Suite which is set right beneath the Historic Tower's cupola. It's a roomy three stories with ocean views, and a third floor master bedroom.

The National Hotel is a dream escape for those who have a soft spot for the 1930s and love the history of that period. The history is enough to carry people through the doors while the amenities keep guests coming back time and time again.
